BUTLER TOWNSHIP — Interstate 80 was shut down for nearly seven hours after a crash in Luzerne County.
The highway was closed near the split with Interstate 81 after a big rig tipped over and spilled its load of brakes all over the highway around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police said an SUV then plowed into the overturned tractor-trailer.
No one was seriously hurt, but Interstate 80 east was closed for a cleanup overnight. It reopened around 6:15 a.m.
