POCONO TOWNSHIP -- Once more around the Lazy River and a quick slip down the slide -- people showed up to Camelbeach Waterpark near Tannersville to close out its summer season.
"Having fun, enjoying the nice weather. It could be the last day for nice weather," said Rocio Roca, Yonkers.
The park was packed with people off from work and school for the Labor Day holiday.
One group had planned to go to the beach in New Jersey, but with the possibility of bad weather, they played it safe.
"Yeah, well, we wanted to go down to the shore for the day but they are having the hurricane so we decided to come here," said Kerri Yagecic, Philadelphia.
She enjoys this park because there is enough for everyone to enjoy.
"It's very nice, right? They are having fun, the kids are having a blast and so are we. We are like big kids," said Yagecic.
The summer season might be over but the work doesn't end here. After all the waterpark stuff gets torn down, they start preparing for ski season.
"Camelback never stops. Whether it be going right into preparation for winter or continuing our operations at Camelback Adventures, and of course, the indoor waterpark is open every day so we've always got something going on," said Drew Jackson.
Jackson is a spokesperson for Camelback. He tells Newswatch 16 this summer ranked third in attendance for the park.
But now it's time to shut down the water slides and start making way for the snow trails.
"Over the course of the next three months, we will completely transform our base area like we do every fall to get it ready for skiing and snowboarding season," said Jackson.
Work to transform Camelbeach into Camelback Mountain Ski Resort is expected to begin this week.
