UPDATE: Wilkes-Barre Fatal Shooting Victim Identified

UPDATE -- The Luzerne County Deputy Coroner confirmed that Irvando Crooks, 23, was the man fatally wounded after being shot twice on North Sherman Street in Wilkes-Barre Friday evening.


WILKES-BARRE -- Wilkes-Barre police were called to the report of a shooting in the city around 8 p.m Friday evening.

Police say a man was taken to the hospital after being found on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, one in the chest and one in the leg, on North Sherman Street.

He later died.  Police have not released his name.  The coroner's office has scheduled an autopsy.

Part of North Sherman Street has been temporarily blocked off as police look for evidence.

Police also say they are searching for a witness, a black male with a Jamaican accent, dreadlocks, and a green hat.

Police are requesting anyone with information to contact them.
