STROUD TOWNSHIP -- A girl from Monroe County didn't want toys or clothes for her 9th birthday, instead, she asked for things like food and blankets for homeless animals.
Thursday afternoon, Kylie Newgent and her mother dropped off a trunk load of donations to AWSOM Animal Shelter near Stroudsburg.
The young girl from Effort collected cleaning supplies, dog and cat food, cat litter and blankets at her birthday party last weekend.
