SCRANTON -- Kathleen Kane called her final day as Pennsylvania's Attorney General "bittersweet" as she arrived at her Scranton office Wednesday morning.

Kane would not talk about her legal issues or her trial that ended Monday night in a guilty verdict, but she did talk about her work as the state's top cop and listed some accomplishments as she spoke with the media before starting her last day on the job.

"I loved my job.  I'm proud of the work we've done," she said.

Kane said her record shows during her time in office there were arrests of more than 500 child predators and convictions of many child predators too. She said she kept the state lottery from being outsourced and run by an out-of-state company.

Kane's stint as attorney general ends after a jury found her guilty of perjury, obstruction, and other charges. She was convicted of leaking confidential information and then lying about it.

Even though she potentially faces prison time, Kathleen Kane said she has no regrets.

"Somebody has told me that your future is always brighter than your past.  So we're going to move on.  I want people to know I'm OK.  The boys are OK, and we're strong, and we appreciate all the support like you wouldn't believe."

Kane said she chose to spend her last day of work in the Scranton office because that is her hometown.  She said she would spend the day helping the office transition to first deputy Bruce Castor who will now take over as Pennsylvania's Attorney General.

When asked about her future, Kane pointed out she has some legal issues to work through.  She is scheduled to be sentenced October 24.

Kane also said she looks forward to spending the rest of the summer with her boys and joked she'll be dealing with all the weeds in her yard.
