WILKES-BARRE -- People looking to cool off in Wilkes-Barre will have one fewer option now that a pool has closed a week early following a theft and trespassing.

Some swimmers came out Saturday to enjoy the final day of the season at the pool inside Kistler Elementary School.

City officials made the decision to shut the pool down early after money was stolen from a cash box.

Workers tell us someone shattered a window and broke into the snack shed.

Visitors tell us they're disappointed about the swim season being cut short.

"They opened the pool late and then closed it early. It's not fair to other kids. It's not fair to people who come here either," said pool attendant Keni Ndoye.

The indoor pool is used by school district swim teams during the winter.
