SCRANTON -- Some personal care homes were giving back to the community by helping kids heading back to school.
Newswatch 16 stopped by Scranton Manor on Jefferson Avenue for its back to school event to help students gear up for the new school year.
Members handed out pencils and pencil cases to families.
All the while, a party was going on featuring face painting, balloon artists, bowling, and more.
“We like to get the community involved, because the elderly people here like little kids. It’s just fun. It’s fun for everybody,” said activities director Angela Cutrona.
Similar back to school events for students were also held at Gardens of Green Ridge in Scranton and Mid Valley Manor in Peckville.
