WILKES-BARRE -- The splash pad at Coal Street Park in Wilkes-Barre was the place to be for people trying to deal with the heat on Saturday.

Parents say they love how the splash pad is easy to get to and that it's free.

While the kids were pleased with how cool the water feels on such a hot day.

"It’s really hot outside, and everybody's feet are burning," said London Llyles of Wilkes-Barre.

Over on Old River Road, people at Fame Gym were sweating buckets.

Even though there is no air conditioning inside the facility, the gym rats kept their hearts pumping in the hot weather.
