PITTSBURGH — "Batman" has finally found a forever family.

Batman is a four-eared cat who was up for adoption at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society in Pittsburgh.

The 3-year-old rare breed was born with two ears in the front and two more in the back.

The organization says the cat came from a home with several pets and is super friendly, but his owner was no longer able to care for him.

The cat had not been available for a few weeks because he had to receive treatment for an upper respiratory infection.

“As an open door shelter, we take in and care for any animal brought to us. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a four-eared cat comes in the door!" said Hala Nuemah, managing director of the Western PA Humane Society.

When Batman became available for adoption, the public was all ears — he found a new family within hours.

According to the shelter, the rare genetic mutation has been documented since 1938, when a four-eared cat named Toots was discovered in Ashtabula, Ohio.

The mutation is believed to be caused by a recessive gene mutation needed from both parents.
