KINGSTON TOWNSHIP--- Janeen Seitz of Shavertown is dead after a weekend crash near Dallas and her fiancé may soon face charges related to her death.

Kingston Township police say Seitz died when the SUV she was a passenger in crashed into a tree Saturday night off Manor Drive in the township. Christopher Tirpak was behind the wheel. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Tuesday, Seitz’s death was ruled a homicide, the result of traumatic injuries.

"We heard it, heard you know- down the road and boom! And my daughter yells from the other room I think that's a car crash…ten seconds later, she runs down and she calls me and says, 'Mom, you better get down here,' said Mary Leeds of Kingston Township, who lives nearby.

"Saw a car, really messed up so I went around the side, there was a man there, I saw beer cans everywhere, there was ice, there was a cooler halfway up, the man was choking on a seatbelt, I cut the seatbelt, I went around to the side, cut the woman's seatbelt off,” said John Geise of Connecticut who is staying with family in the area.

"It truly is a tragedy. No one obviously went out that night deciding they didn't want to go home with their loved one. Unfortunately we're left and the family is left with the tragic results of their decisions,” said Officer Michael Huntzinger of Kingston Township.

Seitz was a mother of three boys and active in the community.

She was president of the Dallas Junior Football Association, President of the Back Mountain Wrestling Club and Secretary of the Wyoming Valley Youth Football and Cheerleading Conference.

Members of those organizations have posted online messages in her memory.

As for John Geise, he won't forget what he saw the night of the crash.

Guise lost his father when he was 9-years old, killed by a drunk driver.

“I didn't sleep for three days, I'm still a little on edge but to have a girl in your arms one second, she's breathing and to find out the next day she's gone, it's hard,” he said.

Investigators said they are awaiting the results of toxicology tests.
