UPDATE — Newswatch 16 now knows that the two people involved in a home invasion in Eldred Township were Brenda Sterner, 47, of Williamsport, and Rudolph Stark, 45, also of Williamsport.

The two approached an elderly woman at her home and asked about fishing near the woman’s residence. Sterner and Stark then entered the woman’s home and robbed her at gunpoint.

The pair tied the woman up until they left the residence. She then untied herself and ran to a neighbor’s home where she called 911.

Several hours later, the suspects were apprehended based on vehicle information provided by witnesses.

There was no bail set, and Sterner and Stark remain locked up in Lycoming County Prison after that home invasion in Eldred Township.

ELDRED TOWNSHIP -- A man and woman posing as fisherman tied an elderly woman up with duct tape and robbed her at gunpoint Friday afternoon in Lycoming County, according to state police.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. at a home in Eldred Township, near Montoursville.

State police say the woman answered the door and saw two people holding fishing poles and a bucket. The two people asked if they could fish at the Loyalsock Creek near her home. Then, they asked if she could give them paper towels.

That's when the two people followed her inside, tied her up, and robbed her at gunpoint, troopers said.

"We're totally shocked. We've been here 10 years and there’s just no crime here, never heard of it. So to have it at this level is quite concerning," said neighbor Jim Kuzo.

It's not clear what the robbers took.

She was eventually able to get herself free and went to neighbors for help.

Troopers said the woman was not hurt and is currently staying with family.
