SHAMOKIN — Police have charged a 13-year-old girl with starting a fire in a Dunkin Donuts bathroom in Northumberland County.
Investigators said the fire was intentionally set just before midnight Saturday in the women’s restroom inside the restaurant along West Sunbury Street in Shamokin.
The fire forced the store to close. There is no word when it will reopen.
Police released surveillance photos and said they received multiple calls and were able to identify the girl they believe set the fire.
She was charged with arson and related offenses including reckless endangerment and risking a catastrophe.
She is currently in a juvenile detention center.
