POCONO TOWNSHIP -- With the scorching temperatures this weekend, many folks will be looking for ways to beat the heat.

Some people in the Poconos are turning the hot sun into fun at a waterpark.

The sun may be scorching above, but it’s not bothering any of the relief seekers at Camelbeach in the Poconos.

“Always remember to have fun in the sun. I’ve traveled two hours and it’s definitely worth it,” said Gage Conway of Mill Hall.

“It was the best day ever of my life and I liked it,' said Lizzie Bechtol of Mill Hall.

The park was packed at Camelbeach and with this heat wave expected to continue through the weekend, employees are expecting folks will be soaking it out over the next few days.

“We’re definitely excited. We really expect it to be a beautiful and warm weekend and that we should definitely see some people coming in from all over,” said Dru Brooks with Camelbeach.

They certainly were coming in from all over. Some came from right here in the Poconos.

“It’s a great place to be in heat, perfect. It’s a great place to be,” said Jay Sweifach of Long Pond. “You can go off the wave floor, lazy river, and you can go on water slides just for fun.”

Others came from farther away, escaping the heat of the big cities.

“Just trying to enjoy the weather. It’s beautiful out here. It’s amazing,” said Jason Solano of Newark.

“We don’t have a lot of water parks like this and we wanted something new, so we came here,” said Makeada Jackson of Philadelphia.
