PITTSTON TOWNSHIP -- A violent armed robbery in Luzerne County was caught on camera.

Security camera video captured the hold-up at the Thursday night at the Sunoco on Route 315 near Yatesville.

Two employees were inside around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, getting ready to close when a masked man ran in, screaming for money and pointing a gun.

He forces the door open, running in with a gun, pushing the Sunoco station manager to the ground.  He screams for money, and then suddenly the robber begins to pistol whip and kicks him.

"It's crazy what is going on today. That these things can happen! You can't even have a job without somebody trying to hurt you," said Dorothy Andrus of Pittston.

The robber made off with about $400 but gave the manager of this gas station a black eye and a memory of a terrifying experience.

"I was scared. I think in my mind about my family and stuff. I have one kid and one coming up," the manager of the station said.

The attacked gas station manager, still shaken by the strong arm robbery, didn't want to show his face, but shared with us what you can see but can't hear in the surveillance video.

The terrified manager is begging the gunman to take whatever he wants and let and his employee live.

At one point in the video -- the scariest moment -- the robber has his cash and starts to leave but quickly turns around.

"Did you think he was coming back to shoot you?"

"That's 50 percent what I think, you know," he replied.

In the video, the robber wore something over his head, so police do not have a strong description of him to give out.

But they do want people to know, the robbery happened around 9:30 p.m. and the man was seen running along Route 315 toward the Knights Inn Motel.

Anyone who may have seen something or has information on this robbery is asked to contact Pittston Township police.
