EAST STROUDSBURG -- East Stroudsburg University offers students a number of study abroad choices, but with all the recent terroristic attacks happening, students are wondering if it will stop people from taking the opportunity.

Studying abroad can be a life-changing experience for a college student. Thousands take the opportunity each year.

East Stroudsburg University freshman Luca Demarco has been looking into the possibility.

"I've never been overseas, so it is something I wanted to do."

But with another attack on France that killed more than 80 people, are students at ESU worried about going overseas?

"Some people, they hear about these attacks and they change their minds, but in my opinion, I don't think you should," Demarco said.

The university offers a number of different study abroad choices for students throughout the summer, fall, and spring semesters.

France is an option many students choose.

Some students at ESU tell us if these attacks keep happening, it may deter students from studying abroad, which is unfortunate because many students look at those programs once they get to college.

"I think it will drop, but not dramatically," said freshman Intiaze Yakatally. "People still want to go out and meet new people and live in different cultures. Sure it will deter some people, but hopefully most people will go out and do it."

Tyara Wright-Soater from Kunkletown is a junior at ESU. She understands why people might have mixed feelings, but believes we shouldn't let terror win.

"A lot of people live in fear. I feel like if you live in fear you aren't going to be able to travel the world and see other countries and have experiences out there."

According to the university, there are no ESU students studying in France right now. The current study abroad program taking place is in Africa.
