HAZLETON -- Police in Luzerne County said one person is dead after a late night incident in Hazleton.

According to officers, shots were fired at First and Seybert Streets just before 11 p.m. Saturday. Authorities say one man was killed; his name has not yet been released.

Shortly after, a three vehicle crash happened along East Diamond Avenue sparking the investigation into the deadly shooting.

This is the latest deadly shooting to have some Hazleton residents frustrated and concerned for their safety.

"Ain't no telling where these bullets are going these days. It's too dangerous to dangerous for the kids."

One resident, who preferred not to have their face shown, says witnesses and victims are too hesitant to help with investigations like this one.

"It seems that things can happen in this town and nobody is willing to cooperate or anything nobody knows nothing."

Police suspect there could be more shooting victims since there was so much blood at the crash scene. At last check, a man investigators are calling a person of interest was in custody.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim or the motive.

The Hazleton Police Chief told Newswatch 16 the public is not in any danger and this is considered an "isolated incident."
