JIM THORPE -- Days away from the holiday weekend, the Lehigh River Jim Thorpe is packed. Pocono Whitewater has hundreds of people rafting on the river each day this week, as it gets closer to the weekend, business is picking up.

Many travelers getting to the area early and already starting to have fun.

"The weather is cooperating so far. I don't have the official numbers off the top of my head but it's looking to be a good weekend," said Keyanna Kern with Pocono Whitewater.

"I say it's going to be really busy for everybody. Everybody is going to be making pretty good money," said Brandan Bibicoff with Pocono Whitewater.

The Pocono Biking Shop in Jim Thorpe has about 100 bikes they normally rent out. Days before the holiday weekend, they've already rented more than half of them. Come the actual weekend, they expect to be wiped out.

AAA expects this weekend to be one of the busiest Fourth of July weekends on record, so across the country and in Jim Thorpe, businesses  are already staffing for it and preparing.

"We will have everybody here that we can get here, all hands on deck," said Mike McLeod with Pocono Biking.
