POLK TOWNSHIP — Residents in part of Monroe County continue to say no to Nestle.

A meeting Monday night in Polk Township brought out about three dozen residents who believed that the Nestle company was planning to take water for bottling.

Earlier this month, Nestle dropped its original plan to take up to 200,000 gallons of water per day from a spring in neighboring Eldred Township in Monroe County.

The company issued a statement saying, “At this time, Nestlé Waters is not monitoring springs or exploring the potential for a spring source in the…region.”

A previous version of this story incorrectly indicated that Nestle was planning to take water from Polk Township.

They better stay out of Monroe County!!! Don’t believe a word Nestle says, they LIE! Water is our MOST precious resource and once it’s gone, IT’S GONE FOREVER!!!!!!! Our elected township officials better think about our future and our children’s future, if all the water is toxic or gone, who will live or even vacation or visit the poconos??? NO ONE!!

Love that Deer Park water! Good luck Nestle, these small town people hate even the slightest thought change.
