It's 88 degrees in Binghamton three hours before first pitch and Steve Kline is making the rounds. The Lewisburg graduate and former major league pitcher enjoyed 10 solid seasons with five different teams making it to the NLCS with St. Louis in 2002 and 2004.

"The throw by drew to the plate...The Giants are going to the World Series!"

Now Kline at 43 years old handles a staff of 20 somethings. It's that coach player relationship he finds most challenging.

"Just personalities. You have to learn to deal with different personalities and different backgrounds, work habits and everything. You have to find out what makes them tick and get them started," said Steve.

This is Kline's 2nd year as the pitching coach in AA Richmond an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. He has a lot of top prospects and one local guy Ray Black a 2008 graduate from Wilkes-Barre Coughlin is happy, healthy and hitting 100 mph consistently on the radar gun.

"We'll its great to be up here. You know I call it's god country and maybe a few of the guys from California, and Dominican republic, Venezuela you know they disagree with me but I love it back here I love it back home and it's just a great group of guys and it's good to see different parts of the country," said Ray.

"He's been fine. He started off kind of rough with the command of his pitches but he is starting to turn it around and showing great progress," added Steve.

Hired in 2008 by the San Francisco Kline helped develop the talent that led to three world titles in the last 6 years.

"I mean I love the minor leagues. There's something about teaching the kids and getting them ready here. We won three World Series since I joined this squad and it's good to see all of our guys from the minor leagues get up there. I think we have 17 out of the 25 maybe 18 of the 25 guys that are home-grown kids," again said Steve.
