WILKES-BARRE -- Many people struggle to get oral healthcare. On Saturday, Aspen Dental provided free services to help give veterans a healthy smile.
Aspen Dental launched the Healthy Mouth Movement giving the community free dental care and oral health education directly to those who need it most, with a focus on serving veterans in 2016.
Aspen Dental offered complete services like X-rays, full cleaning, and extractions for free.
At the Wilkes-Barre location, dental officials say they saw an increase in patients this year.
Patient Service Representative Christie Gordon says it's important to give back to those who gave all.
"Being that our veterans do so much for the country, it's the least we can do to help them out," says Gordon. "They do so much for us, why can't we give just a little bit of time of our day to help them out?"
