RIDGEBURY TOWNSHIP — A man from Bradford County is under arrest after police say he shot and killed his brother.
According to state police, there was an altercation between brothers Daryl Barnes, 51, of Gillett, and Fred Barnes, 46, of Elmira, New York.
It happened at Daryl Barnes’ residence at Hillside Acres in Ridgebury Township, near Gillett.
Investigators believe Daryl Barnes shot Fred Barnes once in the chest with a shotgun. Fred Barnes later died at a hospital.
Daryl Barnes was charged with one count criminal homicide and is locked up without bail.
There is no word from authorities on what led to the deadly shooting.
