Drivers who use the northeastern extension of the turnpike should expect some traffic tie-ups over the next few days in Carbon County.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike plans to do maintenance work on the Lehigh Tunnel on June 20, 21, 22 and 23.
Each day between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m., crews will stop traffic for a few minutes in both directions in order to direct all traffic into the northbound tunnel.
Crews expect to have single-lane, two-way traffic in the tunnel from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
Turnpike officials say crews will be updating the overhead lighting in the tunnel.
