SCRANTON -- Some people turned out to add a pop of color to the Electric City Saturday.

They decorated the rusty Harrison Avenue Bridge in Scranton’s hill section with colorful flowers and designs that were knitted and crocheted by a group called the Yarn Bombers.

They say it is their way of brightening up the city.

The group members say their work is well-received by passers-by and neighbors.

"It's so colorful. You notice while you’re here the horns beeping as people go by. They love it. They loved it last year. They love it this year because it’s a splash of color in an otherwise dreary bridge," said Wayne Evans of Scranton.

The Greater Scranton Board of Realtors purchased the yarn for the Yarn Bombers.
