WILLIAMSPORT -- Tuesday, some members of the LGBT community in Williamsport paid their respects to those lives lost in Orlando by leaving a lasting mark on a wall in Williamsport.

Jeramy Mohler from Trout Run paints to create but on this day, he paints to heal.

"In memory of those people that lost their lives and that constantly struggle everyday with the fear of losing their lives um to violence period," said Jeramy Mohler.

Mohler is part of the LGBT community  in Williamsport. Like most, he's overwhelmed by the news of this weekend's mass shooting in Florida.

"Mostly anger at the system because this keeps happening and then sadness because more people that are innocent are passing away,” said Mohler.

Because the tragedy has left a lasting mark on Mohler, he is now leaving a lasting paint mark on the inspiration mural in Williamsport. The inspiration mural is a large painting local artist, Michael Pilato is designing on West Fourth Street in the city.

"We are adding the Florida state bird. I painted the Florida state bird in rainbow colors," said Michael Pilato.

"There's going to be 49 flowers for 49 victims," said Mohler.

The memorial wall is already covered in paintings. Some are bigger, some smaller, but they are all moments in time Pilato wants people in Williamsport to remember. Pilato believes it's only right to add something to the wall so people can remember what happened this weekend in Orlando.

"If I can present a canvas that people can come out and put their love and show their love for the families those lost," said Pilato.

When it's complete, the American flag and the LGBT flag will sit on each side of the bird. Jeramy sees it as a sign of hope.

"We will persevere because love trumps hatred," said Mohler.

Pilato is looking for help adding flowers to the painting. He says folks are welcome to stop by and talk with him about adding their hand to the mural in Williamsport.
