STROUD TOWNSHIP -- Some folks weren't able to worship at their church Sunday morning after a vehicle took off the building's front porch in Monroe County.
Police suspect Minh Van Pham of York was intoxicated when he drove into Analomink United Methodist Church on Route 191 around 4 a.m. Sunday.
A neighbor says the loud sound of the crash woke her up and she immediately called 911.
“I looked over and saw the church was completely destroyed in the front, and I said, 'Oh, my goodness, the church, the church!' With that, I just ran down the stairs to get a better look," explained Christine Wilkins.
There was no one inside the church at the time.
Police arrest Pham after they spotted him with debris from the church hanging off his vehicle.
Church officials said they have to wait for insurance adjusters before repairs can be started.
