DURYEA -- It was an engine malfunction that caused a fire truck to roll away and crash into a tree in Luzerne County.
It happened Saturday when the Germania Hose Company was trying to put out a house fire in Duryea.
The fire chief tells us the crew was setting up to pump water on the flames when the truck's engine overpowered the parking brake, launching the runaway fire truck.
Three firefighters were hurt in the crash. They are all expected to be okay.
There is still no word on the cause of the house fire here in Luzerne County.
