PLYMOUTH -- The product of hard work and dedication was on display in Luzerne County Sunday.
The Catherine McAuley House in Plymouth held a picnic and ribbon cutting to show off its newly-renovated backyard.
The Leadership Wilkes-Barre team McAuley House kids led the improvement project.
Members put together a brand new swing set, basketball hoop, and picnic table. They also purchased a new grill and landscaped the property.
"It's overwhelming, the generosity of people. Sometimes I’m just speechless. Today would be one example of that when you see these wonderful leadership group folks that are here donated their time, their energy, their finances to make this possible. It’s just overwhelming, and I'm just so grateful," said Sister Catherine McGroarty, McAuley House director.
The Catherine McAuley House is a nonprofit organization that provides temporary shelter to women and children in need.
