Graduation Parties

A little pomp and a little party!  It’s really the theme for many families this time of year in our area with so many universities and high schools holding graduation ceremonies.  So to help you “make the grade” when it comes to throwing a great graduation bash, Newswatch 16’s Ryan Leckey teamed up with some party planning pros.  Special event planner Jennifer Rushton & florist Brian Daubert from MCR Productions joined us on Newswatch 16 This Morning from the Westmoreland Club in Wilkes-Barre.

The pros whipped up some unique ideas ranging from table settings to floral arrangements and even a DIY photo booth.

The goal of these ideas is to help save people time and money when it comes to throwing a great bash for your grad!  The DIY photo booth suggestion is one that won't cost nearly as much as the professional booths which sometimes come with a rental fee of $1,000.00.   To create your own DIY photo booth, snag a Polaroid camera, some props like big glasses and wild outfits.  Then, for the "frame" part of the photo, up-cycle an old mirror frame minus the actual mirror.  Check out the video clips for an example of how to take this photo booth to the next level.   Plus, see creative ways you can create place settings and holders for graduation cards.
