TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP -- A grandmother and several of her grandchildren escaped a fire in a home in the Poconos Wednesday afternoon.
It started around 12:30 p.m. in the home on Glade Drive in the Emerald Lakes development near Long Pond.
Fire officials say sparks coming from an electrical outlet started the fire.
A grandmother was home at the time with several of her grandkids. They all got out safely. The children are OK but the grandmother was taken to hospital for breathing in too much smoke.
The house was destroyed.
