SCRANTON -- A yearly effort by the American Red Cross and first responders aims to make homes safer.
Teams of firefighters and volunteers went door to door in west Scranton Saturday offering to install smoke alarms in homes that needed them. It’s part of the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign.
Officials tell us smoke alarms are the first line of defense when it comes to preventing deaths caused by fires.
