MOOSIC — If you have already bought hanging plants and have started gardening — heads up, it’s going to get chilly!
Behind our latest cold front, we have some chilly temperatures in the forecast for Sunday morning.
Some spots in the northern tier may get close to 32 degrees tonight. Not only will it be cool tonight, the winds will pick up making for a chilly night and a chilly end to the weekend.
The cool nighttime temperatures will have a bigger impact Monday morning.
We have a more widespread threat for freezing temperatures Sunday night into Monday. The National Weather Service has already issued a Freeze Watch for parts of our area that will go into effect late Sunday night.
So far, Susquehanna, Bradford, Wayne, Lackawanna, Pike, Monroe and Carbon counties are included in the freeze watch.
So what does this mean? Check out how cold it could be by Monday morning.
The National Weather Service issues a freeze watch when sub-freezing temperatures are possible. Sensitive plants can become damaged or killed due to the unseasonable temperatures.
If you have started planting and can cover up your plants – you may want to do so if not tonight, Sunday night.
