MONTOURSVILLE -- An air show in Lycoming County had a tough take off on Friday because of the weather, but spectators showed up anyway hoping they would get to see some vintage planes.

At 92 years old, Carl Daniel of Williamsport never goes to the airport without his camera.

"I use this lens to film the planes coming in or out," he said.

He's not a frequent flyer but he does stop by the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville a lot.

"Every day I'm down here. I have to get my pictures for my website you know," Daniel said.

He came by expecting to take pictures of some bigger planes.

"The 228 was supposed to come in today, the C130, but I think they cancelled the C130."

Williamsport Regional Airport and Energy Aviation are expecting nearly 30 planes to fly in to the airport before its free open house on Saturday, but weather is posing a problem.

"We are right there at the edge of the weather," said Dave Hall of Energy Aviation.

Hall tells us the airport is offering hundreds of free airplane rides. He hopes to see thousands of people turn out between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, but before they do vendors have to set up.

As for Carl, he'll probably be back at the airport Saturday, as will most of the planes before the air show begins at 9 a.m. in Montoursville.
