A group of volunteers is taking a swing to save a special field for kids. A number of people along with businesses including Fidelity Bank in Lackawanna County are rallying to revamp Reddington Field in Scranton. The place at 1500 Wood Street has been around for about three decades and lately has started falling part. From the bleachers to the snack bar, much of the facility needs to be revamped.
Fidelity Bank is helping to organize a "Community Volunteer Day" next Wednesday, May 18, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The bank is lending some of its employees and hopes to rally even more volunteers to tackle various projects at the field including painting. You can just show up if you can help! If you can't make the volunteer event next week but still would like to contribute, you can donate money for supplies at any Fidelity Bank.
