WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP --  Keep an eye out for flaggers and lane restrictions near Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard and Coal Street near Wilkes-Barre. Work is scheduled from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. through May 20 as crews replace a gas line.

"When I pulled up, I thought, 'Uh oh! What's going on?'” said Barbara Conover, who co-owns an antique store in a plaza near the road work.

The few businesses at Georgetown Plaza that sit along the boulevard worry about how the almost two weeks of road construction could impact their bottom lines.

“The construction's horrible. It's not good for business,” said Courtney Testone of Pets-N-You.

"People might drive by. They might not pull into the parking lot because they don't think they could get in,” said Conover.

Officials say if you have to drive in this area, plan on your trip taking a little longer. A lane in each direction could be closed on Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard.
