WILKES-BARRE – An event aimed to help cancer patients have a better quality of life drew a large crowd in Wilkes-Barre.

There wasn't a lot of sunshine, but there were plenty of “rainbows” at Kirby Park in support of Candy's Place.

Hundreds came out for the Cancer Wellness Center's 19th annual Rainbow Walk on Saturday.

Participants made their way through Kirby Park to River Street.

"I’ve met so many terrific people who really care. They have helped me in so many ways that I am tearing up, just to know that somebody else knows how you feel," cancer survivor Sue Rose said.

Candy's Place offers support groups and complimentary services like meditation and massage to those affected by cancer.
