SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP – A man whose last name is probably familiar to some Scrantonians had a big birthday Friday.
Michael Altier celebrated his 101st birthday Friday at the Clarks Summit Senior Living.
Michael's family started Altier Jewelers in Scranton in 1945 and it is still in business along Spruce Street.
