NEW MILFORD TOWNSHIP -- While schools all over the area are holding their proms, not all students get to go to the big dance.

On Friday in Susquehanna County, a prom was held for many of them.  It's the prom for Life Skills students and we found there sure were a lot of smiles.

Blue Ridge High School's actual prom is over, but the high school's gym near New Milford certainly was rocking and was decked out in a lot of decorations too.

This is the Life Skills prom for some special kids from seven school districts.

The boys and girls get all dressed up just like they would for any prom and for them, that's fun too.

"It's just so great! It's just so exciting. It's nice to see that I'm going to be here," said Lackawanna Trail student Chris Mulvey.

"They are just like everybody else and this opportunity gives them a place and setting to feel like everyone else. It's just amazing," said Blue Ridge Life Skills teacher Adele Bennett.

And it isn't only fun for the special education students. Other Blue Ridge students were helping make all this work. They were smiling just as much on the dance floor.

"It's awesome to see them have such a good time. It makes me happy to see them be so happy," said Blue Ridge student Taylor Bronson.

"It's just really rewarding to see all our work we put into this is paying off and they're enjoying themselves and having a good time," added Blue Ridge student Isabella Cosmella.

On this day, it's just a bunch of high school kids at a high school dance making great memories.
