SCRANTON -- People were staying active to help in the fight against cancer in Scranton.
The University of Scranton held its annual Relay for Life event on campus.
Hundreds of students will be staying active through Saturday night in an effort to raise $50,000 for the American Cancer Society.
The 24-hour event features plenty of activities from Zumba to basketball to tug-of-war. It was to keep the people moving.
Organizers say they still take time to honor survivors and remember victims for their fight against the disease.
"Everyone here has been touched by cancer some way even if it's a friend or a family member and I think it is really exciting for people to see all of these other people rallying for the same reason and especially for someone that has been personally touched. It's really exciting and inspiring for them," said Kaitlyn Davis.
The event wraps up at 5 p.m. on Saturday here in Scranton.
