SHAMOKIN -- People in Shamokin are in an uproar after a disturbing video was shared on social media of a cat being killed by two pit bulls.

The security camera video helped police catch one of the dog's owners and they are looking for the other.

That video has almost 1,500 shares on Facebook.  The video shows the dogs let off their leashes, they chase the cat and the cat tries to get away.

"It should have ended.  The cat didn't have to die."

Greg Orner is talking about his 14-year-old cat Blacky.  Orner was helping a friend move on Wednesday afternoon when he got a phone call from a neighbor, came home, and saw Blacky lying on his porch.

"I went over, held him, but he was already gone," recalled Orner.

When Orner found out how Blacky died, he felt worse.

Security camera video from a neighbor's property on Willow Street in Shamokin shows Blacky walking by, then two teenagers walking their pit bulls.

The dogs were let off their leashes and the dogs attacked Blacky on his porch.

"The two fellas stood on the sidewalk and they laughed and they cheered," said Orner.

Animal cruelty charges were filed against one of the teenagers.  He was taken to a juvenile detention facility.  Police are still trying to figure out who the second teen is.  The dogs are still at their homes.

But Orner says he does not blame the dogs; he blames the owners.

"How they can have that much hate?  Not only for what they did to my pet but for what they're doing to these dogs."

It was hard to find someone in Shamokin who has not seen the video, and everyone we spoke with said it was horrifying and disgusting.

"Oh, I cried," said Theresa Bush.  "I hope whoever did it, I hope they need to be punished."

Sandra Hornberger has three pit bulls.

"They've never attacked anybody.  It's how you raise them.  The only way those dogs would have attacked that cat is these kids had stuck them on him."

As for Orner, he is glad the story is being shared on social media.

"I want people to know how much hurt I'm in.  I don't want nobody else to go through this."

The cat's owner says he would like to see the dogs put to sleep before they do this again, or hurt a child.

If you have any information on the second teenager involved, you are asked to call Shamokin Police at 570-648-5708.
