WILKES-BARRE -- Donald Bachman was shot to death outside of his home on Willow Street in south Wilkes-Barre almost one year ago. Since then, some things in this neighborhood have changed.
His sister, who also lives on Willow Street, no longer sits on her front porch.
"To look at the sidewalk where my brother laid bleeding to death, you know, it's difficult, and especially with now that it's approaching the one year," said Judie, Bachman's sister.
"You never want it to be this long. The more time goes on, the lesser you think your chances are going to be," said Wilkes-Barre Police Chief Marcella Lendacky.
But the chief also pointed out investigators are now following an active lead that turned up just a few weeks ago.
The chief would not say much on surveillance video taken from cameras outside of Bachman's house. Police obtained that video shortly after the murder but have never made it public.
"Should we do that, it could jeopardize the case, or challenge its integrity at some point," Lendacky said.
"I would just like to see whoever it was to be caught and justice be served," Judi said.
