POTTSVILLE — Commissioners say a company is expected to remove low levels of radon from the Schuylkill County Courthouse.
Certain locations in the courthouse showed slightly-elevated levels of radon, but the levels were well-within acceptable standards, according to the commissioners.
Radon is a colorless odorless gas that is common in eastern Pennsylvania and has been linked to medical problems if people are exposed to it for a length of time.
The same company clearing the radon gas plans to also remove mold from four areas of the courthouse.
