SCRANTON — The former president of the Old Forge Ambulance and Rescue Association will spend one month in jail for theft.
Robert Gotay was sentenced Wednesday for stealing about $16,000 from the privately run company.
Court papers show he began taking money last year, shortly after being named president, because of a severe gambling problem.
In addition to jail time, Gotay was sentenced to three months house arrest and ordered to pay back $12,600 to the rescue organization in Lackawanna County.
