SCRANTON – A ceremony praising music education was held in downtown Scranton.
The 24th annual Music Appreciation Luncheon was held at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel in Scranton Sunday.
The local chapter of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association honored several music educators in the area.
In addition, Newswatch 16's Ryan Leckey accepted the service award for his and WNEP's commitment to showcasing “Music in our Schools Month” in March, promoting the importance of music education in the classroom.
Two college-bound music students were also presented scholarship awards at the ceremony.
