WILLIAMSPORT -- Senator Ted Cruz spoke to a crowd of around 600 people in Williamsport, speaking on big topics such as jobs and energy.
Cruz spoke to the crowd inside Nuweld Inc, a company that supports the gas industry in Williamsport.
Jobs, freedom and security were three focal points on Cruz's speech to those who attended the rally.
With the gas industry being a big part of the economy in Lycoming County, Cruz's comments about adding more jobs as well as continued natural gas fracking in the area were met with loud cheers.
"That means that's a tremendous advantage for small business. It enables us to compete on the world stage that is going to bring millions and millions of new high paying jobs to America," commented Cruz.
Newswatch 16 met people who drove from out of the county to see Cruz, but expected to see bigger crowds.
This is Cruz's first stop in Pennsylvania. He is also expected to stop in Scranton later in the afternoon Friday.
