SHIKELLAMY STATE PARK -- It finally feels like spring in central Pennsylvania, and people at Shikellamy State Park near Sunbury enjoy the warm weather.

"Getting outside, getting some color after the winter and being able to throw on shorts and a T-shirt," Alicia Showers said.

In addition to eating outside and taking walks, people took advantage of the warm weather in other ways.

Some sped down the Susquehanna River near Milton, but slow was the speed for Ryan Majek of Selinsgrove.

"First day I've been off. It's nice weather, sunny, and I get to go fishing," Majek said.

Majek's been looking forward to being out on the water for months. He scoped out the fish before he got in his kayak.

"I have a fish finder on there and it lets you go anywhere pretty much in the river and you don't have to worry about depth or anything like that," Majek said.

And as for people buying boats, the owner at Robbins Marine near Milton says sales are way up.

"Thanks to the nice weather, and of course, fuel costs have dropped considerably in the last two years, so sales have been very strong," Dennis Robbins said.

Dennis Robbins owns Robbins Marine. He is happy with business so far this year. In fact, he says business is record-breaking. Pontoon boats are his biggest seller.

"A lot of people are getting to the older age. They're going to have grandkids. A pontoon boat works great for a large capacity of people," Robbins said.

This section of the Susquehanna River usually gets crowded with boaters when the fabridam goes up. Inflation of the dam is set to start May 2.
