Natioanl Library Week

The landscape has changed for many area libraries.  And this week is all about celebrating what's new at these places including technology, family activities, and community events  as part of "National Library Week."

The campaign has been around since 1958.   The American Library Association says the goal is to "celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support.  All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate. "

Newswatch 16 dove into what's new at some of our area's libraries including the Osterhout Free Library in Wilkes-Barre.   The organization has been around for 127 years in Luzerne County.   To learn more about upcoming activities surrounding this week, click here!

A great way to find out what's happening at your local library, is to search their Facebook page or website.  Many have special events taking place over the next few days to celebrate "National Library Week."
