The chase is on again for a Division I baseball crown in the Schuylkill League. And North Schuylkill head coach Nick Brayford still believes Pottsville is the team to beat.

"I think it's still more of the same. I think every team in Division I is capable of beating each other on each night. You know when you take away Blankenhorn and Nabholtz from Pottsville, but you still have Jacoby and Hinchcliffe," said Nick.

Keep the Spartans in the conversation. They have the pitching (3 lefties) Tevin Murray, Bobby Grigas and C.J. Steinhilber, and playoff experience too losing 4-3 to Schuylkill Haven in the District 11 AA finals last year.

"It's really fun. I mean being around the guys and being out there on the mound by your self and controlling the game is really awesome," said C.J.

"Talk about how some of the other sports help you get prepared and keep you in shape and get you out here and ready for baseball? How much does that help? Football with lifting. Basketball with the non-stop running up and down the court and then this is the third sport. You are just ready for it," said Bobby.

We've all seen Tevin Murray catch those touchdowns in football, score a couple of hoops in basketball, but he chose baseball. He will be attending Rutgers and the Big 10 and

"I spend a lot of time thinking about baseball especially this year with the team that we have and with the group that we have. We are pretty stacked if you want to say, but during football I was thinking about it, but then always during basketball I was twice or three times a week always going to throw or get a couple of swings in so it's a big thing," said Tevin.

"We had the advantage of going to Hilton Head South Carolina to play in a four-day tournament. So the weather was a little bit warmer there. So are kids played competition from Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina. We held our own. We went 3-1 down there so that was a boost for our kids," again said Nick.

On Thursday- North Schuylkill and Pottsville play in a key early season divisional game.
