PLAINS TOWNSHIP -- The Luzerne County district attorney's office withdrew charges Tuesday morning against a nurse suspected of being drunk on the job.
Federal authorities are now involved in the investigation but we don't know why or what the federal charges will be.
Richard Pieri of Drums had no comment while leaving the magistrate's office.
Pieri told authorities he forgot he was on call one night last month when he was called for emergency surgery at the VA Medical Center near Wilkes-Barre.
The state suspended his nursing license earlier this month.
Pieri admitted to police he had four or five beers before he was paged to come to work.
