SCRANTON -- Plenty of folks gathered for Easter Sunday services Sunday morning across our area.
Members of Saint Paul's Parish attended 10 a.m. mass at the church on Penn Avenue in Scranton. Folks sang hymns and received communion.
On Easter, Christians celebrate their belief that three days after he died on the cross, Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
"Well, I usually alter serve every year for Easter Sunday, and it's just a big part of my life. So, I’m happy I get to do it,” said Christian Kohut, an altar server.
A mass was also held at noon at the church in Scranton.
Folks also turned out for Easter service at Elm Street Methodist Church in Scranton.
The service began at 11 a.m.
Plenty of children also took part in the celebration in Scranton.
