LEWISBURG -- Members of Katrina Leamons' family walked through the woods behind her home calling, "Toby!"

Hours earlier, 13 people escaped from a raging fire in the double block house on Brown Street where two families lived.

While five members of Leamons' family, eight next-door neighbors and two dogs escaped the flames, Toby, a brown and white fox terrier, is still missing. The dog was not found in the burned house.

Leamons' son Richard Derr said, "He is part of the family. Family is family, everybody sticks together, no matter how hard the struggle is."

Leamons added, "If I can find Toby it would mean a lot, but I am at a loss for hope right now."

Firefighters believe the flames started in the rear of the house around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. A cause has not been determined.

Leamons said, "It was so full of smoke you couldn't see, couldn't breathe, but we are all out."

Four members of Leamons' family, including her husband, work at Bucknell University. Family members say the school was quick to offer food and help in the hours following the fire.

The Red Cross is also assisting the people who now need a place to stay.
